The paper explores the implementation of the lexical approach, specifically the systematic acquisition of lexical chunks, as an effective pedagogical tool for accelerated language training of military personnel preparing for NATO STANAG 6001 certification. Given the strict time constraints of intensive pre-deployment and professional military education courses, traditional atomistic grammar-vocabulary instruction often fails to build the spontaneous fluency required at Functional (Level 2) and Professional (Level 3) proficiency levels. By shifting the instructional focus toward prefabricated multi-word units—including military collocations, standardized radiotelephony phraseology, institutional routines, and discourse frames for operational briefings—learners significantly reduce cognitive processing load during real-time communication. The study demonstrates that internalizing high-frequency lexical chunks enhances speech automatization, listening comprehension speed, and pragmatic accuracy in high-stress tactical and staff environments. Practical recommendations are provided for integrating corpus-driven military lexical bundles into Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) frameworks to optimize exam readiness and operational interoperability.
