Переваги та недоліки застосування криптовалюти в умовах сучасної ринкової економіки в Україні

Abstract

Сьогодні фінансові системи окремих країн, як і інші сфери економіки, удосконалюються і прогресують у контексті розвитку глобалізації, поширення ІТ-технологій та загальної комп’ютеризації; на заміну традиційним грошам, які емітує держава, приходить електронна криптовалюта. Буквально за останній рік криптовалюта завоювала інтерес не тільки людей, а цілих держав, які почали активно впроваджувати цю валюту в свій повсякденний обіг. Цей засіб платежу вже набирає обертів у використанні в розвинених країнах світу. Тому важливо проаналізувати та спрогнозувати деталі появи та розвитку нової валюти для признання її як засобу платежу. У статті визначено переваги та недоліки використання криптовалюти в умовах сучасної ринкової економіки. Приведено порівняння рівня капіталізації п’яти основних криптовалют у світі. Визначено методи зберігання криптовалюти, способи її емісії, поняття блокчейну.

The modern stage of money evolution is associated with the development of virtual economy as a part of the global economic system, the base of which is formed by an interactive business based on informational technology. Nowadays, the financial systems of particular countries, as well as other aspects of the economy, are improving and progressing in the context of globalization, the spread of it technologies and general computerization. In order to replace the traditional money issued by the state, the electronic cryptocurrency is coming. This means of payment is already gaining momentum in use in the developed world. The prospects of using cryptocurrency in Ukraine resulting from the modern Ukrainian consumer who is particularly in need of promptness, security calculations, certainty, the absence of third parties, the independence of the monetary unit value from the political situation in the country, and cryptocurrencies meet these needs, while Ukrainian users admit their efficiency. The dynamics of the purchase price of bitcoins during 2017–2018 has a tendency to increase. The end of 2018 is characterized by a significant rise in the price of bitcoin, which is conditioned by shocks on Chinese exchanges, the UK's exit from the European Union and other factors. Today, there is no generally accepted definition of cryptocurrency due to the complexity and innovation of this economical phenomenon. It is necessary to identify the specific features of cryptocurrencies that determine the advantages of their use for investors, to cover the storage and cryptocurrencies` emission. At the same time, it is necessary to emphasize the existence of legal, economic and technological risks. In addition, the prevalence of calculations using cryptocurrencies and the emergence of specialized cryptocurrency exchanges requires the establishment of effective mechanism of investment management in cryptocurrency and regulation of the cryptocurrency market. Therefore, it is important to analyse and identify the advantages and disadvantages of using cryptocurrency for further forecasting its development as a means of payment.
