Current trends in technological devel-opment are particularly significant for physical therapy. An increasing number of people require rehabilitation to restore their motor functions. Thanks to innovative tech-nologies, it is possible to improve the outcomes of physical therapy. The purpose of this study is to summarize current data on the effectiveness of physical therapy techniques in restoring motor functions following injuries and diseases, to identify limitations to their clinical application, and to outline promising areas for future development. The subject of this study is scientific literature that reflects current understanding of physical therapy techniques for restoring motor functions following injuries and illnesses. An analytical review of 25 publications is-sued in 2021-2026 was performed using PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web of Science, and Ukrainian professional journals. Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical guidelines, and controlled studies reporting vali-dated functional outcomes were prioritized. When added to usual care after stroke, virtual re-ality improved upper-limb function and activity (SMD 0.42; 95% CI 0.26-0.58; 21 studies; n=689). Upper-limb robotic rehabilitation showed a small short-term effect (SMD 0.14; 95% CI 0.02-0.26; 54 studies; n=2744) with-out a convincing advantage in activities of daily living. One of the main advantages of digital technologies is their ability to enhance the effectiveness of physical therapy in restoring motor functions following injuries and illnesses. Intensity, task specificity, repetition, sensory feedback, and the motivational significance of the exercise are all im-portant for restoring movement. Telerehabilitation for musculoskeletal conditions was comparable with face-to-face programmes in selected clinical settings. A Ukrainian controlled study of the Omego Plus system in 60 patients with lower-limb arthrogenic contractures demonstrated larger gains in knee flexion and ankle dorsiflexion com-pared with standard physical therapy.Technology-sup-ported physical therapy has the greatest clinical value when exercise dose is individualized, tasks are function-ally relevant, safety is monitored, and a physical therapist remains responsible for clinical decision-making. Future studies should focus on sustained functional outcomes, economic evaluation, and standardized reporting of tech-nological interventions.Modern physical therapy technologies have the potential, supported by evidence, to increase the intensity, precision, and accessibility of motor rehabilitation follow-ing injuries and illnesses. Virtual reality has shown the best results for upper limb training and balance rehabilitation after a stroke. Robotic therapy, on the other hand, provides a modest short-term improvement in motor ability. How-ever, this does not always translate to activities of daily living. Telerehabilitation can be an effective component of care for musculoskeletal disorders. Ukrainian data indicate the promise of robotic training with biofeedback. The clin-ical outcomes of using these technologies depend on indi-vidualized dosing, the functional focus of the exercises, competent supervision by a physical therapist, and the evaluation of long-term results.
