Seafarers are at particularly high risk for cardiovascular disease, primarily due to the nature of their work and associated lifestyle factors. After occupational accidents, cardiovascular disease is the second leading cause of death at sea. The objective of the study is to evaluate the available data on cardiovascular diseases and risk factors to investigate the features of medical examination of seafarers suffering from cardiovascular diseases at the current stage, to assess the importance of pre-voyage medical examinations and to identify the most typical nosoforms that interfere with work on ships.
