The species composition of algae in the benthos of the Lower Dnister basin was studied.
During 2000-2025, 264 species were found, belonging to 119 genera, 61 families, 37 orders,
10 classes, 6 divisions, 4 kindoms and 2 domains (empires). Of these, 14 species for the algal
flora of the Lower Dnister basin are listed for the first time. The maximum number of species
(200) was found in the Dnister estuary, the minimum (59) was registered in Lake Pisarske, in
other reservoirs the number of species ranged from 85 to 180.
