| dc.description.abstract | Neuropathic pain (NP) develops as a result of damage or dysfunction of the system responsible for the transmission of pain signals. The pathophysiology of neuropathic pain is based on increased neuronal excitability caused by plastic changes in structures associated with the conduction and processing of nociceptive information. NP can significantly affect the patient's quality of life. Treatment is often complicated by resistance to many drugs and the presence of side effects even with successful pharmacotherapy. | uk_UA |
