Extrapulmonary tuberculosis: textbook

Abstract

Тhе textbook deals with thе modern fundamental issues of extrapulmonary tuberculosis in accordance with the onders and protocols approved by thе Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The textbook covers the following sections: etiopathogenesis, pathological anatomy, clinical forms and classifications, principles of diagnosis (laboratory and instrumental, dlinical), treatment, and prevention of thе common extrapulmonary discases caused by pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis. The textbook highlights the research information on the study of pharmacogenetic factors of antituberculosis medication effects, which is of great importarce for phthisiatric practice in the treatment of chemoresistant forms of tuberculosis and multimorbid TB/HIV pathology since the latter has а global tendency to spread. Each topic section contains sell-control questions, tests, and situational tasks for extracurricular and classroom training. Тhе textbook is intended for studeats of thе 4th - 6th years of study of the educational ‘program Phthisiology as well as for doctors of general practice and family medicine.
