Abstract

Йододефіцит та його вплив на стан здоров’я, особливо дітей та вагітних, є однією із найбільш важливих проблем у світі. Метою цього огляду є аналіз матеріалів про харчові джерела йоду, наслідки його недостатності протягом усього життєвого циклу, а також стратегії контролю і моніторингу йододефіцитних розладів. У статті також розглядаються стратегії профілактики йододефіцитних захворювань.

Iodine deficiency disorders are among the most significant public health problems in the world, especially among children and pregnant women, considered the highest risk population. The purpose of this review is to analyze the materials on dietary sources of iodine, the effects of iodine deficiency throughout the lifecycle, as well as strategies for control and monitoring of the iodine deficiency disorders. This article also reviews strategies for iodine deficiency disorders prevention.
