<description>The influence of clinical and diagnostic parallels of resistant nasopharyngeal obstruction in patients with dento-maxillofacial anomalies on treatment tactics
Diedykova, Iryna
If we refer to otorhinolaryngological pathology with nasopharyngeal obstruction&#13;
and the development of DMA in children and adolescents as a comorbid condition, the&#13;
relevance of the issue of comprehensive and timely qualified treatment, including&#13;
surgical treatment, depending on the cause of the development of MB, becomes clear.&#13;
The situation forces scientists to propose a more detailed consideration of issues of&#13;
differential diagnosis of otorhinolaryngological pathology to improve treatment and&#13;
improve the prognosis for the patient, especially in conditions of a time-limited growth&#13;
period.

<title>Development of medical education in the context of European integration</title>
<link>https://repo.odmu.edu.ua:443/xmlui/handle/123456789/17482</link>
<description>Development of medical education in the context of European integration
Аndreev, O. V.; Таgunova, I. K.; Gushcha, S. G.; Volyanska, V. S.; Ivchenko, N. A.
European countries are united in their views on the value of human life, education,&#13;
and healthcare through intellectual, cultural, and social proximity. Human health is the most sensitive issue for different population segments and is often exploited by political forces to&#13;
create social instability. The European Union is a complex structure that unites member&#13;
countries with their long-established views on healthcare. An important innovation of today&#13;
is the introduction of digital technologies into the healthcare system. The events of recent&#13;
years (pandemic, economic instability, war) have exposed the heterogeneity of European&#13;
countries' economic and technological levels and changed the proportional possibilities of&#13;
individual states' contributions to a single system. To create a single, coordinated intellectual&#13;
space, it is necessary to create a single level of quality of higher education in the countries&#13;
participating in this space. Strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian scientific and&#13;
industrial organizations with their partners in the EU, expanding the research space, will&#13;
serve as an incentive for Ukrainian scientists not only to comply with the agreed rules, but&#13;
also to actively, equally participate in the improvement and development of new&#13;
recommendation and regulatory documents of European educational and research spaces, and&#13;
to make the most of the opportunities of our scientists, teaching staff, and young specialists

<description>Elective disciplines in the Otolaryngology cycle – a method for improving the applicant’s knowledge
Аndreev, O. V.; Tagunova, I. K.; Gushcha, S. G.; Plakida, O. L.; Ivchenko, N. A.
Family practice physicians often encounter recurrent upper respiratory tract pathology.&#13;
The physician's training involves mastering a course in otolaryngology. Still, this course lacks the necessary detailing concerning age-related features of various structures of the upper respiratory tract, congenital pathology in children, and interdisciplinary issues. The topics of selective disciplines are devoted to detailing highly specialized issues. Elective disciplines in the Otorhinolaryngology cycle are chosen not only by students - future otolaryngologists but also by potential doctors of family medicine, therapy, and pediatrics since the prevalence of ENT pathology among therapeutic and pediatric patients is very high. Therefore, introducing elective disciplines for applicants' interest and practicing doctors of related specialties, forming their professional level, is fully justified

<title>The impact of different types of anaesthesia on the course oftonsillectomy surgery</title>
<link>https://repo.odmu.edu.ua:443/xmlui/handle/123456789/16869</link>
<description>The impact of different types of anaesthesia on the course oftonsillectomy surgery
Kolesnichenko, V.
Recurrent tonsillitis is considered to be one of the most common ENT diseases. Tonsillectomy as a method of recurrent tonsillitis' treatment is being performed as usual as 20% of all surgeries in ENT departments. The critical criteria for the success of tonsillectomy&#13;
for the surgeon are the frequency of perioperative complications, long-term results of treatment, and the patient's recovery time. For the patient, those criteria are the severity of pain, psychoemotional stress, the time spent in the hospital, and how quickly he can return to&#13;
his daily life routine. The factors that significantly affect the outcome of tonsillectomy are the choice of anaesthetic management.&#13;
Our study aimed to optimise the approach to choosing between endotracheal anaesthesia and local anaesthesia. Clinical studies were made among 158 patients with recurrent tonsillitis who underwent a bilateral tonsillectomy. The patients were divided into two groups.&#13;
The first group consisted of 97 patients undergoing tonsillectomy using local anaesthesia. The control group included 61 patients undergoing tonsillectomy using endotracheal anaesthesia. We considered the factors such as duration of surgery, the amount of&#13;
blood loss, intraoperative events, number of incidents of primary and secondary bleeding, assessment of pain syndrome, necessity of analgesics administration, length of hospital stay, and recovery period. Conclusions: tonsillectomy surgery using local anaesthesia requires less time to perform, has lessblood loss, fewer intraoperative events, and fewer incidents of primary and secondary bleeding. The average level of pain is higher in patients using endotracheal anaesthesia.

<title>Study of the effect of a drug from the macromycetes Ganoderma lucidum on the phagocytic activity of peripheral blood neutrophils in patients with year-round allergic rhinitis</title>
<link>https://repo.odmu.edu.ua:443/xmlui/handle/123456789/15579</link>
<description>Study of the effect of a drug from the macromycetes Ganoderma lucidum on the phagocytic activity of peripheral blood neutrophils in patients with year-round allergic rhinitis
Bohdanov, V. K.; Gushcha, S. G.
Modern complex therapy of patients with persistent (year-round, chronic) allergic rhinitis (AR), based on the use of antihistamines and intranasal glucocorticosteroids, in many cases is not effective enough, since drug therapy acts only on individual links in the pathogenesis, without preventing the progression of the allergic disease. At the same time, the quantitative and reserve capabilities of neutrophil granulocytes are depleted, which increases the level of antigenic load in patients with AR. The aim of this study is to investigate the phagocytic activity of neutrophils in patients with AR who received basic therapy and patients who received basic therapy and a course of the drug from the macromycetes Ganoderma lucidum "Astmagan". We examined 40 patients of both sexes with AR, the duration of the disease ranged from 6 months to 2 years. Patients were divided into 2 equal groups: The 1st group consisted of patients who received basic therapy (oral Loratadine and intranasal Nasonex). The 2nd group consisted of patients who received basic therapy and a course of "Astmagan". The treatment course lasted 90 days. The control group consisted of 25 healthy individuals. After the treatment, patients in both groups showed a statistically significant positive dynamics of phagocytic system activity: in group 1, the phagocytic index (FI) increased by 30 % (p=0.001), in the second group this indicator reached the normal level. Also, in patients of group 1, the phagocytic number (PN) increased by 35 % (p=0.0001), but did not reach the normal level.&#13;
According to the results of comparative evaluation, a greater efficacy of the treatment complex with the additional use of "Astmagan" was established, which is manifested in the restoration of phagocytic activity of peripheral blood neutrophils, the effect persists for 6 months after treatment.

<title>Nasal septal deviation and olfactory dysfunction: septoplasty and autoplatelet mesoconcentrate</title>
<link>https://repo.odmu.edu.ua:443/xmlui/handle/123456789/15024</link>
<description>Nasal septal deviation and olfactory dysfunction: septoplasty and autoplatelet mesoconcentrate
Tsepkolenko, O. V.; Pukhlik, S. M.
Nasal septal deviation (NSD) prevalence rates in the general population&#13;
range between 75% and 89.2%. The disease results in disorders of the ear, throat and&#13;
nose, olfactory dysfunction (OD) in the form of hyposmia or anosmia, nasolacrimal duct&#13;
obstruction, and, consequently, chronic dacryocystitis and low quality of life. Surgery for&#13;
NSD (septoplasty) can be followed by postoperative anosmia. The three-year COVID-19&#13;
pandemic worsened the histories of candidates for septoplasty and the prognosis for&#13;
surgical outcome in terms of restoration of smell. The methods available for the treatment&#13;
of OD require close cooperation of specialties like ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology and&#13;
neuropathology. Cell-therapy technologies and application of platelet-reach plasma (PRP)&#13;
seem to be promising in the treatment of NSD and OD.&#13;
Purpose: To improve the efficacy of septoplasty for patients with NSD-associated OD&#13;
through the use of autoplatelet mesoconcentrate (APMC).&#13;
Material and Methods: One hundred and fifty-five individuals underwent examination and&#13;
treatment. These included 22 apparently healthy volunteers aged 25 to 34 years (group 1 or&#13;
control group), 47 patients with NSD-associated OD only aged 24 to 33 years (group 2 or&#13;
archival group), 44 patients with NSD-associated OD only aged 23 to 35 years (group 3),&#13;
and 42 patients with NSD-associated OD and a history of COVID-19 aged 23 to 36 years&#13;
(group 4). Ten of the patients of group 4 had nasolacrimal duct obstruction.&#13;
Results: Our magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies found that olfactory bulb volume was&#13;
27.2% and 54.5% decreased in groups 3 and 4, respectively, compared to healthy volunteers.&#13;
A procedure for obtaining at least 24 ml of APMC was described. A 4–mm diameter endoscope&#13;
(Karl Storz, Germany) was used to perform septoplasty under general endotracheal&#13;
anesthesia in groups 2, 3 and 4. Application of APMC after endoscopic septoplasty in&#13;
patients presenting with NSD-associated OD, a history of COVID-19 contributed to the&#13;
normalization of olfactory bulb volume, reduction in postoperative complication rate, and&#13;
restoration of the sense of smell and quality of life. Application of APMC after endoscopic&#13;
septoplasty in patients presenting with NSD-associated OD, a history of COVID-19 and&#13;
nasolacrimal duct obstruction, contributed to restoration of nasolacrimal duct patency, thus&#13;
preventing chronic dacryocystitis.

Background: In recent decades, the prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR) has been&#13;
increasing all over the world including Ukraine. Allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (ARC) is one&#13;
of the most common clinical forms of AR. An imbalance between pro-inflammatory and&#13;
anti-inflammatory cytokines is known to have a key role in allergic inflammation.&#13;
Purpose: To compare cytokine and immunoglobulin levels among patients with AR and&#13;
ARC treated with different therapeutic options.; Актуальність. У сучасних умовах, в усьому світі, в тому числі і в Україні, спостерігається безперервне зростання захворюваності на алергічний риніт. Одним із&#13;
найчастіших фенотипів алергічного риніту є алергічний ринокон'юнктивіт. Серед&#13;
патогенетичних механізмів алергічних захворювань виділяють важливість дисбалансу у системі цитокінів.&#13;
Мета роботи – порівняльна оцінка цитокінового та імуноглобулінового статусу&#13;
та ефективності використання різних типів лікування у хворих на алергічний риніт&#13;
(АР) та алергічний ринокон'юнктивіт (АРК)

<description>Optimization of treatment of patients with dentoalveolar anomalies depending on the clinical and functional characteristics of the nasopharyngeal zone
Diedykova, I. V.; Shnaider, S. A.; Andrieiev, A. V,; Kibalchich, D. O.; Дєдикова, І. В.; Шнайдер, С. А.; Андрєєв, О. В.; Кібальчіч, Д. О.
The purpose of the study was to improve the results and reduce the treatment time for children with dentoalveolar anomalies&#13;
with a constantly open mouth. The study involved 69 boys and 51 girls aged 5 to 14 years, divided into two groups (84 patients – main&#13;
group; 36 patients – comparison group). Adenotomy, in all cases, preceded orthodontic treatment. 82.14 % of patients in the main group&#13;
showed positive results in the form of a correct bite one year after the end of orthodontic treatment. At the same time, only 36.11 % of&#13;
patients in the comparison group showed the same treatment results. It also turned out that the factor of deterioration of treatment results&#13;
is a combination of several reasons on the part of the nasopharyngeal zone in a particular patient (allergic rhinitis, displacement of the&#13;
nasal membrane), which complicates the course of the disease with less guaranteed correction of bite pathology (42.11 %).; Метою цієї роботи було покращення результатів та скорочення термінів лікування дітей з зубощелепними&#13;
аномаліями з постійно відкритим ротом. У дослідженні взяли участь 69 хлопчиків та 51 дівчинка віком від 5 до 14 років,&#13;
яких було поділено на дві групи (84 пацієнта – основна група; 36 пацієнтів – група порівняння). Аденотомія у всіх випадках&#13;
передувала ортодонтичному лікуванню. 82,14 % пацієнтів основної групи через рік після закінчення ортодонтичного&#13;
лікування фіксувалися позитивні результати у вигляді правильного прикусу. В той же час тільки 36,11 % пацієнтів групи&#13;
порівняння відмічалися такі ж результати лікування. Також виявилося, що фактором погіршення результатів лікування є&#13;
поєднання декількох причин з боку назофарингеальної зони у конкретного пацієнта (алергічний риніт, зміщення носової&#13;
перетинки), що ускладнює перебіг хвороби з менш гарантованим усуненням патології прикусу (42,11 %).

<description>Diagnostic signs and methods of treatment of patients with malignant neoplasms of the skin of the external nose and ear
Yevchev, F. D.; Titarenko, O. V.; Maletskyi, A. P.; Bocharov, V. A.; Zubkova, L. P.
Today, the problem of diagnosing malignant diseases of the skin of the face, the medial corner of the eye and the trunk worries many researchers. This is due to the increase in recent years in the number of patients with malignant neoplasms of the skin, not only of the face, but also of the body. Malignant skin tumors are: squamous cell carcinoma,&#13;
basal cell carcinoma, cylindroma (adenocystic carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma with hyaline stroma, cystadenoid carcinoma). Melanoma is a skin tumor that develops from pigment (color) cells - melanoblasts. Cylindroma is an epithelial tumor characterized by the formation of cylindrical structures with stroma hyalinosis. The tumor is prone to&#13;
infiltrating growth along nerve branches and trunks. Objectively, in patients with BCC, it looks like a red formation protruding above the surface of the skin, which is covered with scales and has become hard over time. A bleeding ulcer forms in the center of the&#13;
skin lesion. In patients with PKR, it objectively looks like a yellow scaly part, with a tender surface, which also bleeds when touched. An ulcer also forms at the site of such a lesion. Conclusion.The effectiveness of treatment and 5-year survival of patients with malignant skin tumors depends on G, the stage of the disease and the spread of the process.To reduce the number of skin cancer diseases, it is necessary to carry out prevention, that is, to exclude the effects of harmful factors, to conduct sanitary and preventive conversations.Today it is known that the main method of treatment of patients with skin cancer is surgical with determination of the border of the tumor lesion.
