<summary type="text">Experience of teaching the “Stop the Bleed” training program in different age groups of the Ukrainian population

Military conflicts significantly increase civilian casualties, with massive hemorrhage being the leading cause of&#13;
death. This underscores the critical need for public education in bleeding control skills. In response, this study analyzes&#13;
the experience of teaching the “Stop the Bleed” (StB ACS) course to various age groups of the civilian population in&#13;
Ukraine. From January to December 2024, free training sessions were conducted for school teachers, adolescents (14–18&#13;
years), and university students, comprising theoretical lectures and practical sessions on direct pressure, wound packing,&#13;
tourniquet application, and pressure bandage application. Training effectiveness was assessed using pre- and post-training&#13;
tests covering general information, readiness to provide aid, and theoretical knowledge. Statistical analysis included&#13;
means, standard errors, and relative frequency with 95% confidence intervals. Results demonstrated a significant increase&#13;
in readiness to provide aid (from 63–68% to 91–95%) and improved theoretical knowledge (from 70% to 85–96% correct&#13;
answers) across all groups post-training. Before training, the most common errors were found in questions related to&#13;
personal safety and aid prioritization, especially among adolescents. The majority of participants expressed satisfaction&#13;
with the training and recommended it. The study confirms the high effectiveness of the StB ACS teaching methodology&#13;
for various age groups and professions, recommending its further implementation. The demonstrated interest among&#13;
adolescents indicates the feasibility of their involvement in such programs. Future research will focus on developing&#13;
individualized modules to address specific knowledge gaps and investigating the long-term retention of acquired skills.; Воєнні конфлікти суттєво збільшують кількість жертв серед цивільного населення, спричиняючи масивні кровотечі, що є основною причиною смертності. Це підкреслює критичну потребу в розвитку в населення навичок&#13;
зупинки кровотеч. У відповідь на це дослідження аналізує досвід викладання курсу «Stop the Bleed» (StB ACS)&#13;
різним віковим групам цивільного населення в Україні. Із січня до грудня 2024 року проводили безоплатні тренінги для шкільних вчителів, підлітків (14–18 років) та студентів університетів, які передбачали теоретичні лекції та&#13;
практичні заняття з прямого тиску, тугого тампонування, накладання турнікета та пов’язки, що тисне. Ефективність навчання оцінювалася за допомогою до- та післятренінгових тестів, що охоплювали загальну інформацію,&#13;
готовність надавати допомогу та теоретичні знання. Статистичний аналіз містив середні значення, стандартні&#13;
похибки та показники відносної частоти з 95 % довірчими інтервалами. Результати показали значне підвищення&#13;
готовності до надання допомоги (з 63–68 % до 91–95 %) та покращення теоретичних знань (із 70 % до 85–96 %&#13;
правильних відповідей) у всіх групах після тренінгу. Виявлено, що до навчання найчастіше помилки допускалися&#13;
в питаннях особистої безпеки та пріоритетності надання допомоги, особливо серед підлітків. Більшість учасників були задоволені навчанням та рекомендували його. Дослідження підтверджує високу ефективність методики&#13;
викладання StB ACS для різних вікових груп та професій, рекомендуючи її подальше впровадження. Виявлена&#13;
зацікавленість підлітків свідчить про доцільність їх залучення до таких програм. Подальші дослідження будуть&#13;
зосереджені на розробці індивідуалізованих модулів для усунення специфічних прогалин у знаннях та вивченні&#13;
довгострокового збереження навичок.

The prevalence of preterm births is relatively high in all countries of the world and is about 7–15%. Complete nutrition is the key to a child’s healthy growth. Undoubtedly, breastfeeding (BF) should be a priority for preterm infants and it is necessary at all levels of medical/consultative care to support women’s desire to breastfeed. According to the recommendations of the WHO and according to local protocols, full-term healthy children should be introduced to complementary foods at the age of 6 months, since BF and adapted mixtures from this period can no longer fully meet the needs of the baby. Determining specific terms for the introduction of the first complementary foods (CF) for preterm infants in Ukraine and international practice remains debatable. Some studies show that the introduction of CF among preterm infants is most often started at 4 months (17.1±0.23 weeks), provided that the child has reached a weight of at least 5 kg and do not separately emphasize the need to take into account the signs readiness of the child before the introduction of the first products, a list of recommended products is not provided. The American Association of Pediatricians in the Multidisciplinary Guidelines for the Care of Late Preterm Infants recommends introducing CF no earlier than 6 months of age. The recommendations of the British Association of Pediatricians emphasize the need to start the introduction of CF between 5 and 8 months of passport age, if the child has the necessary motor skills. That is, the development and implementation of algorithms for introducing complementary foods to premature babies and counseling parents is a topical task. The aim was to study the parents and primary health care workers awareness concerning the peculiarities of infants born preterm nutrition, timing of complementary foods (CF) introduction and adherence to the implementation of medical recommendations.

<summary type="text">Contemporary approach to online education at the medical school applying Socratic seminar or Socratic circle to lecturing

We have sought the answer to a problem of online education introduced by COVID-19&#13;
pandemic. We suppose online education is to be the most dynamic form of professional&#13;
learning which takes place at a distance with the use of effective informational and&#13;
communicative tools. Our objective was to be focused on solving specific professional issues,&#13;
to create conditions for effective learning based on our professional experience, with its&#13;
maximum use. Socratic Dialogue is a brand that symbolizes the improvement of the quality of&#13;
thinking in clarifying and solving problems in questioning in the community. Socratic&#13;
seminars are one of the pedagogical technologies that provide the opportunity for students to&#13;
actively practice in a wide variety of academic and professional skills. Its systematic&#13;
procedure is used to examine a text through questions and answers founded on the beliefs that&#13;
all new knowledge is connected to prior knowledge, that all thinking comes from asking&#13;
questions, and that asking one question should lead to asking further questions. The goal of&#13;
this study was to have participants work together, seek and gain deeper understanding of concepts in the text through thoughtful dialogue rather than memorizing information that has&#13;
been provided for them. Our focus was to explore multiple perspectives on a given issue or&#13;
top and student’s decision-making for the clinical cases provided. The method has helped us&#13;
to identify students which lack any concrete knowledge or are not able to implement&#13;
theoretical knowledge into solving practical tasks. The method also improved creative and&#13;
critical and clinical thinking of the students who were actively engaged in the process not&#13;
only during the class but also by preparing effectively for the class. We prioritized flexibility,&#13;
individualization of learning, and put emphasis on self-study of the students. The authors&#13;
voluntary move away from the truly philosophical direction in the introduction of Socratic&#13;
dialogue into the methodology of modern teaching students in medical and biological&#13;
disciplines and implement this learning option as an auxiliary one in online learning. Finally,&#13;
authors analyzing the efficacy of a new teaching methodology in which the initiative of the&#13;
conversation, its directions and possible branches from the original premise are provided to&#13;
the students themselves.

Overweight and obesity in children seem to be quite common problem in many countries. The food dominants and preferences are developing in early childhood. Not rationale feeding of infants and their overweight are risk factors for obesity in&#13;
school age. The goal of study was to assess the physical development and feeding practice of infants based on self reported&#13;
parental survey. The anonymous parental survey for parameters of physical development and feeding practice details was done randomly. The parents of 2nd – 3rd year old children were asked to complete special Google-forms. The individual data, overall&#13;
tables and diagrams were obtained on-line.

<summary type="text">Analysis of risk factors of postnatal delayed physic development of premature infants

Object. Analysis of factors associated with delayed physic development (DPD) and body mass deficit in premature infants aged up to one year was the objective of the study. Materials and methods. The premature infants' development records and findings of the clinic examinations were analyzed retrospectively. Inclusion criteria were the following: gestation period less than 37 weeks, birth weight less than 2500 g, lack of major defects of organs and systems, and of the CNS severe organic pathology. The study enrolled 150 infants (74 boys and 76 girls) aged 3 months to 5 years. Results. After heuristic examinations the following maternal and infantile factors potentially associated with the premature infants DPD during the first six months of life were identified. The factors identified were analyzed multivariatively. When the 95% CI odds ratios (ORs) were determined no valid association between the maternal factors and the DPD presence in 6-month old infants was found. When the infantile factors were analyzed it was found that DPD occurred reliably more often in the IUGR infants (OR 3.6) having been on AVLe for 7 days or longer (OR 2.72), in the infants having been tube fed for 14 days or longer (OR 2.53), in the bottle-fed infants (OR 2.54), in the anemic newborns (OR 3.54), in the infants with severe birth asphyxia (OR 5.28). Conclusions. The factors that can impact on the DPD should be taken into account for optimizing the premature infants care during the first year of life as well as their development delay should be prevented and the pathological states and deficits should be corrected in due time.; Цель исследования: проанализировать факторы, ассоциирующиеся с задержкой темпов физического развития (ЗФР) и дефицитом массы тела у недоношенных детей на 1-м году жизни. Материал и методы. Проведен ретроспективный анализ историй развития и клиническое обследование преждевременно рожденных детей. Критерии включения в исследование: срок гестации менее 37 нед, масса тела при рождении менее 2500 г, отсутствие грубых пороков развития органов и систем и тяжелой органической патологии ЦНС. В исследование отобраны 150 детей (74 мальчика и 76 девочек) в возрасте от 3 мес до 5 лет. Результаты. При обследовании эвристическим путем у матери и ребенка выделены факторы, которые потенциально ассоциируются с ЗФР у недоношенных детей в течение 1-го полугодия жизни. Проведен монофакторный анализ выбранных признаков. При определении отношения шансов (ОШ) с 95% ДИ не выявлено значимой ассоциации материнских факторов с ЗФР у детей в возрасте 6 мес. При анализе факторов у ребенка показано, что статистически достоверно ЗФР чаще встречается у детей с задержкой внутриутробного развития (ОШ 3,6), у находившихся на ИВЛ 7сут и более (ОШ 2,72), при зондовом вскармливании в течение 14 сут и более (ОШ 2,53), искусственном вскармливании (ОШ 2,54), анемии новорожденных (ОШ 3,54), наличии при рождении асфиксии тяжелой степени (ОШ 5,28). Заключение. Для оптимизации ведения преждевременно рожденных детей на 1-м году жизни необходимо учитывать факторы, которые могут влиять на ЗФР, проводить профилактику их возникновения и своевременную коррекцию патологических и дефицитных состояний.
